November 28, 2011

Well, it was somehow depressing and emotionally stressful. The feeling of feeling an idiot for not answering well my accounting quiz again today. It was the 5th quiz and I'm pretty sure I hadn't got a very good score AGAIN (at my perspective). I was thinking what's the problem that i can't get a high score in quizzes. Tsk* I'm getting exaggerated. Actually, I'm a positive thinker and i do not take these matters very frustrating. I believe that someday i will reach that goal and pass my 1st year of accounting.

Enough of that. Since i had a half day of class during Mondays, there's nothing really happened
during that day. My history teacher is busy and did not attend the class so we were dismissed early and we went home.

At the house, i reviewed a small part of chapter1 of my basic accounting, surfed the net, made my EPIP activity, read Brisngr and lay on the bed trying to sleep.

Sharing the spirit of Christmas

As a 4th year student at Pax Catholic Academy, we are required to have our immersion or what we commonly call “community service”. We had three immersions already and unfortunately I only attended the third immersion but luckily, it was our Christmas party together with the parents and children of our adopted area.

When we arrived at the area, children and parents gathered at the chapel to start the program. They are so excited as well as us. We started the program with a prayer followed by the opening remarks. Emman and Gle gave a dance number to entertain all of us and Kate gave a song number after them. Everyone gave them a big applause. We conduct games for the children and we can really tell that they enjoyed it. After all the activities and games we had a small “merienda” for the people. We also brought with us small gifts for each of the families and gave it to them before we say our “Merry Christmas” and goodbyes to them.

Having this immersion experience develops our compassion to the less fortunate and realization of our present world. It trains us to be aware of our unequal economic status and how a youth can help like us to solve this arising problem. This experience will always be in our hearts and minds. We will always be glad and thankful that even in our small ways we helped and shared God’s loving presence with others especially to those people who really need it. We are hoping to learn more from this community service and experience.

“My Future Lies within Me”

I’m not feeling well today and I thought I will not be able to make my blog. But somehow I thank God I managed to make one.
            My blog starts this way….
Every person in the world has its own dreams, ambitions, goals in life. Well, me? I simply want to become an employee in a certain company. I was planning to take B.S. accountancy course because I love math and I was hoping to graduate with high honors to find a suitable job for me. You may be wondering why I like math and will take the course of accountancy. It’s because I love numbers and solve math problems. It feels like a challenge to me.
Well, let’s go back to my dream. I was hoping that after ten years I will be able to graduate from my selected course and is now working at a company. In that way, I can provide the needs of my family and have financial support for the education of my sister.
So I motivate myself to study hard in order to graduate with honors. With determination and perseverance, I know I can do it because I know that my future lies within me.

I Wonder

Many in our present time, engage in early pregnancy and teenage marriage. It’s been a fact that it is a hindrance to a youth’s future, to get pregnant and unable to finish school. Many people believe and know it already. But somehow I wonder what makes teenagers like me to engage this kind of situation. I wonder what they thought before having sex. Do they also think what will be his or her future? Maybe they know but they are still tempted to it or they never think about the future as long as they love each other.
If you ask me want can I say about this problem, well, I surely don’t want it to happen to me. It’s true that it is a common problem to most of the teenagers. I heard many stories of some people I know who experienced getting pregnant early and had no choice but to quit school. They ended up as workers in a young age and some just stayed at home, ashamed to go out in his or her house. But it doesn’t mean that I will also engage in sex. First of all, if I was in the first step of the problem, I will think a hundred times before I do it. I will always bear in mind that I want to finish school and I want a good future for my family. I also believe that it is not right to have pre-marital sex and the best gift that you can give to your husband is your virginity. The first thing that will come in my mind is my parents. I love them so much and I don’t want to disappoint them. That’s why I really study hard for them and to make them proud of me.
To all teenagers like me out there, think first before you do it. Think of the reasons why you want to engage in this problem and what would it do to your future.
